Greece – Zakyntos
Zakynthos – is a Greek paradise Island. I love it when I discover a new place, I have no expectations and I get blown away. Zakhyntos gave me that. Here are my recommendations if you get the chance to visit this dreamy island that I now love!
1. Palamaki beach
A fantastic snorkel spot and nature experience at the same time. Here there are caves to discover and very unique fish to see. To get here you need to rent a moped or quad bike. Then you will have to take a little hiking trip. Not suitable for those afraid of heights. But what an incredible place – definitely a favorite on Zakhytos in my opinion
2. Cotton club
A very nice and unique restaurant with food that is served as art. This unique place is not just a restaurant but an experience in a fantastic setting on a beautiful hill – so worth a visit.
3. The blue caves
Enclosing many parts of the island of Zakynthos. There are many boat trips to book to these peaceful places. If you’re lucky, you might see dolphins or turtles <3
4. Keri Mizithre’s Viewpoint
Wow what a place. I panicked a bit because it was so scary but magical at the same time. You can book tours here or drive yourself with your own vehicle. Zakynthos has unique nature I must say.
5. Try to stay out of Laganas
As this is a party place if you are looking for that romantic and calm feeling.
6.The ocean itself
The ocean is outstanding here. There are several different types of blue in different places, which makes each swimming spot unique. I had to swim every day when I discovered this beautiful island. There is all shades of blue to swim in.
7. Natural and organic olive oil
Here you can buy olive oil and other fantastic natural products from the locals – made from natural and organic olives. You can also visit the olive tree fields – it’s a beautiful experience.
8. Shipwreck beach or Navagio Beach
A unique place that you go to by boat. A place with history where a big boat lays on a beach. Magical at the same time. I don’t think you can visit Zakynthos without visiting this place.
9. Discover the Greek kitchen
The food is a huge highlight here. So many tavernas on every street – just walk around and discover. There is a lot of salads and healthy options. Eat, enjoy and live!
10. Visit Zakynthos capital city
A very cozy little town that reminds me of Italy in many ways. Here you can shop, eat well and just be. A perfect day trip for those who want to see something different. Don’t miss the church on top of the mountain – such a great view.
