Toscana is one of the most beautiful and dreamy places I ever visited— it has a magical feeling. Think soft golden light, endless vineyards, ancient villages perched on hilltops, and sunsets. If you’re planning a trip to Tuscany here are seven magical things to do.

1. Stay in a castle or countryside farmhouse
There’s something special about waking up to birdsong and olive trees instead of in a city. In Tuscany, you can stay in centuries-old castles or cozy agriturismos — traditional farmhouses turned peaceful retreats. For me this was a dream!

Download the Agriturismo app to find authentic stays in beautiful castles, vineyards, and off-the-beaten-path farmhouses. It’s perfect if you’re looking for something local, charming, and unforgettable.
2. Rent a car and drive the Tuscan backroads
Public transport is great in cities, but to truly explore Tuscany — the vineyards, the villages, the fields that glow at golden hour — you can rent a car or a scooter. Renting a car gives you the freedom to stop at a tiny roadside café, pull over for unexpected views, and explore hidden towns at your own pace. Driving in Tuscany is part of the adventure.

3. Visit Florence — The heart of the renaissance
Florence is pure magic. It’s where Michelangelo sculpted David, Brunelleschi built the Duomo, and Botticelli painted The Birth of Venus. Wander across the Ponte Vecchio, sip espresso in Piazza della Signoria, and get lost in side streets filled with handmade leather and art history.

4. Get lost in the vineyards of Chianti
The Chianti hills are a dream come true for wine lovers and romantics alike. Drive or bike through this region’s winding roads, stop for wine tastings if you like. I don´t drink myself but still it is a wonderful experience to visit and just eating grapes!

5. Visit Lucca — One of the cutest cities I ever visited
Lucca is one of Tuscany’s best-kept secrets — a peaceful, elegant town wrapped inside perfectly preserved Renaissance walls. Lucca has all the charm of Tuscany without the crowds — perfect for slowing down, wandering aimlessly, and falling a little more in love with Italy.
6. Visit Pisa — More than a Tower
Pisa is famous for one thing — the Leaning Tower is worth the hype. It’s nice to see in person (yes, take the cheesy photo!). But once you’ve had your moment, take time to explore beyond the Piazza dei Miracoli. Stroll along the Arno River, discover gelato shops, and peek into quiet churches with centuries of stories.
7. Discover hidden villages and local markets
Florence and Pisa are iconic — but the real soul of Tuscany is in its tiny villages. Stroll through cobblestone streets, chat with local artisans, buy handmade ceramics or truffle oil, and breathe in that sweet, slow life.
